6Does language shape culture or culture shape language?

I was watching Korean drama which is based on one of history period before people Korean was invented. There were many descriptions that explain certain words on the bottom of screen. Before my language was made, people borrowed language from China but they used differently. By borrowing language, people start to use two kinds of language to classify the class. One is language that used for people in a high class and the other language is for the other class people. For instance, "Yong-Ann" is a word that refer to king's face but it doesn't use for normal people. Therefore, I think culture shape language rather than language shape culture. The reason is that languages such as Yong-Ann" are made depend on culture.

  1. I agree that culture shapes language. From the historic period, culture helped to shape the language. And country was all divided depend on their culture and decided to use whatever language they prefer. Min said Korea once used Chinese character, but culture played significant role on making our own language.
